Join Our Volunteer Ohana
At Aloha Therapeutic Horsemanship (ATH), our program flourishes because of the heart and dedication of our volunteers. We are always looking for passionate community members to join us in our mission of providing rider-focused therapy for those with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.
We cannot do what we do without our enthusiastic team. You are truly appreciated!
Why Volunteer with Us?
Becoming a volunteer is a purposeful and rewarding journey. Our team members often witness significant, life-changing progress in our students as they regain strength and build confidence.
Community Service: Students can receive community service credit for their contributions to a meaningful cause.
A Rewarding Experience: See firsthand the joy and transformation that equine-assisted therapy brings to the Big Island community.
Grow with Us: Be a vital part of our flourishing non-profit as we expand our reach and our equine team.
How You Can Kōkua (Help)

Leading & Side-walking: Supporting riders directly during their therapeutic lessons.
Horse Care: Grooming, tacking, and untacking our equine partners.
Safety First: Ensuring a secure environment is our top priority, with fun for everyone as a close second!
Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome dedicated individuals from teens to adults:
Ages 13+: We train volunteers of all ages (exceptions can be made based on prior equine experience).
Two Locations: Join us at either Waikoloa Stables or Horseplay Equestrian Center.
Ready to Make a Difference?
Come be a part of this amazing journey with us. Whether you have a lifetime of horse experience or are just starting out, your time and energy make a world of difference for our riders.

"I have been volunteering for Aloha Therapeutic Horsemanship for about eight months. I started with no horse experience and was immediately impressed with Robbi Nanni’s knowledge of both the horse’s temperament and the student’s ability. Witnessing these students' life improvements firsthand is exhilarating."
